Tool will enable complex media brands to “come to life” for media buyers
Des Plaines, IL, October 25, 2011 – Kantar Media SRDS, the leading provider of media opportunities, rates and contact data to advertising agencies, is joining with Synaptic Digital, the world’s premier multichannel digital media creation and distribution platform, to offer publishers the opportunity to create and distribute video media kits.
The SRDS Video Media Kit will make it possible for media planners to quickly understand a publisher’s entire brand portfolio through a video format. The kit will appear in the SRDS platform alongside a publisher’s listing. Publishers can also use the video media kit on their website and distribute it through their social media channels.
The SRDS Video Media Kit can be produced by creating “sizzle reels” from existing video, such as event footage or interviews with subscribers, editors, and publishers. Synaptic Digital can also help publishers create a video by using existing and original footage. The kit is then delivered through the SRDS service in a simple and standardized template.
“These days it is increasingly difficult for a publisher’s advertising sales team to effectively communicate their entire multimedia offering,” says Stephen Davis, President of Kantar Media SRDS. “With this video tool, publishers can help busy agency planners, who don’t have time to meet their reps or read through the pages of a media kit, better understand their offering. The video format will allow publishers to tell a consistent, focused message. It’s akin to bringing an editor and a publisher on every sales call.”
“Brands worldwide are increasingly using video to present a full, more compelling picture of their product and companies overall. As publishers’ brands proliferate across numerous media platforms, they need to act similarly.” says Tom Morrissy, Executive Vice President, North American Sales at Synaptic Digital. “As a former magazine publisher (Entertainment Weekly, OK! Magazine), I believe media buyers will be highly engaged with our technology due to its friendly, intuitive interface. Literally, all multimedia assets are contained in one “box.” As a publisher, you strive to educate buyers on the essence of your brand, and the Video Media Kit accomplishes just that.”
Tablet Media Library Now Includes In-App and Digital Magazine Ad Opportunities for Android, Zinio and Nook, as Well As iTune
Chicago, IL, May 23, 2011 – SRDS, a Kantar Media Company, is expanding its Tablet Media Library (www.srds.com/tablet-media-library), a collection of traditional print brands that have developed tablet media apps with in-app advertising opportunities for sale, to identify ad opportunities for more marketplaces, including iTunes, Android, Zinio and Nook.
The library now catalogs nearly 450 media titles across four marketplaces, more than double the amount since the initial site launch six months ago. With this update, more than 50 media brands can be found in two or more marketplaces.
Since its launch in November 2010, more than 200 apps have been added to the Tablet Media Library, including Android and Nook. According to SRDS, nearly 90% of the titles listed in the Tablet Media Library are consumer-facing, published by consumer magazines and community newspapers.
The Tablet Media Library was developed to help advertisers find relevant in-app advertising information on tablets and e-readers. In a March 2011 Tablet Media Study of SRDS users, one quarter of respondents said they currently plan ad campaigns in the tablet media space. Of those who had conducted tablet media app campaigns in the past, 95% predict they will include tablet media in their ad campaigns in the next twelve months. They also believe that advertising in tablet media helps position their brands as progressive.
Media companies can check to see if their tablet apps are included in the SRDS Tablet Media Library by visitingwww.srds.com/tablet-media-library. To list an app on any of the three pages or promote an app, please contact Joseph Hayes at (646) 895-8421 or joseph.hayes@srds.com.
